GRAVOIS MILLS -- Betty Christine Campbell, 77, died at 6:20 p.m. Jan. 10, 2005, at her home.

Born March 1, 1927, in Essex, daughter of the late Jim and Lottie Grace Brannon, she had worked as a waitress and cook for many years and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Eagles Club.

Survivors include: one son, Virgil Campbell Jr. of Bellville, Ill.; seven daughters, Juanita Haynes of Sikeston, Barbra Goforth and Sharon Campbell of Gravois Mills, Janice Mace of Dexter, Shirley Sugg of Cahokia, Ill., Janet Young of Tulsa, Okla., and Ann Costin of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, Gene Brannon of Sikeston and Charles Brannon of Marble Hill; five sisters, Lena Hicks and Pat Young of Sikeston, Nancy Cochran of Marble Hill, Ruth Malone of Rockford, Ill., and Linda Arthur of Poplar Bluff; and 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, David Campbell on Dec. 11, 2004; two brothers, Bud Brannon and Dankie Brannon; and one sister, Dorothy Layton.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church of Sikeston, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
