Verba Romines

BERNIE - Verba Ellen Romines, 80, died Nov. 11, 2001, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born Feb. 8, 1921, at Fisk, daughter of the late Alva Rowley and Julia Allen Rowley, she was a social service supervisor for the Department of Public Social Services, Social Services Division in Blythe, Calif., before returning to Southeast Missouri. She was a member of the VFW Post 2987 Ladies Auxiliary in Blythe.

One sister, Betty Cross, survives of Bernie.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Cleo L. Rowley.

Services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie with the Rev. O.H. Brooks of Malden officiating.

Burial followed in the Shain Memorial Cemetery at Ash Hill.
