Helen McBride
DEXTER - Helen McBride, 78, died Nov. 18, 2004, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center.
Born Aug. 9, 1926, in Powe, daughter of the late Elvis and Gladys Irby Reynolds, she lived in St. Louis for 25 years before moving to Dexter in 1974. She was a nurse aide for area nursing homes before retiring and was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter.
On Aug. 4, 1962, in Collinsville, Ill., she married Gale McBride who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons, Melvin McBride of St. Cloud, Minn., Randy McBride of Fordland, Don Cox of Dexter and Michael McBride of Mesa, Ariz.; three daughters, Jo Ann Ruble of Mehlville, Judy Tretter of Chesterfield and Deborah Wilson of Flint, Mich.; one brother, Houston Reynolds of St. Charles, Ill.; three sisters, Yvonne Hopkins of Spring Hill, Kan., Sue Dock of Malden and Faye Bunch of Dexter; and 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
One brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Mike Watkins of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
