John Singleton

PORTAGEVILLE - John Wylie Singleton, 55, died Oct. 9, 2001, in Portageville.

Born Sept. 1, 1946, in Portageville, he was the son of the late William Wylie Nelson and Ruth Collins Singleton.

On Nov. 2, 1968, in New Madrid, he married Linda Rose Hartman who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, John W. Singleton Jr. of Warrensburg; three daughters, Lea Moore of North Las Vegas, Nev., Dorothea Singleton of Enid, Okla., and Linda Gray of Warrensburg; one brother, James Goodman of Aberdeen, Wash.; two sisters, Louise Stein and June McKay of Taylorville, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Hobert Goodman; and one sister, Lavern Kitchen.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday with Jack Lewis, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Hartman, Larry Swilley, Maurice Moore, Jeff Cross, Dusty Gray and Mike McCoin.
