Jerrold Powers

POPLAR BLUFF - Jerrold Emmett Powers, 84, formerly of East Prairie, died at 2:20 a.m. Oct. 11, 2001, at the Three Rivers Medical Center North Campus in Poplar Bluff.

Born June 2, 1917, in East Prairie, son of the late William Arthur and Myrtle Methany Powers, he lived in East Prairie before moving to Poplar Bluff 27 years ago. He was a retired farmer and member of the Dogwood United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Connie Powers of East Prairie; one daughter and son-in-law, Paulette and Danny Spence of Benton; one brother, Harold Powers of East Prairie; and three grandsons, Jamie Powers of East Prairie, Jason Spence of Murray, Ky., and Jeff Spence of Benton.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Wesley Powers; and one brother, Earl M. Powers.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. Saturday until service time at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. David Dowdy and Walter Bryars will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
