Sam Garland

MATTHEWS - Samuel T. "Sam" Garland, 59, died Oct. 10, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Feb. 9, 1942, in Clinton, Ky., son of Bennie Henderson Garland of Cadiz, Ky., and the late Artell Henderson, he was an industrial electrician for Noranda Aluminum since 1984 and was stationed in Germany while serving with the U.S. Army.

On July 24, 1981, he married Paula Dean who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, David Garland of Cadiz; one daughter, Samantha Scoggins of Loganville, Ga.; two brothers, Billy Garland and Jerry Garland of Cadiz; three sisters, Peggy Mancuso of Panarama City, Calif., and Margaret Grey and Gail Ravelette of Cadiz; and one grandchild.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be conducted at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston with the Rev. Marvin Graham officiating.
