Klipfel - Omohundro
PORTAGEVILLE - Yvonne Charisse Klipfel and Thomas William Omohundro exchanged wedding vows in a 5 p.m. ceremony July 20, 2001, at St. Eustachius Catholic Church before the Rev. Roger Leveillee. Serving as lectors were Lauren Williams of Portageville, cousin of the bride, Martha Hipes of Clarksville, sister of the bridegroom and Alice Mosquera of St. Charles, sister of the bridegroom.
The bride is the daughter of John and Ellie Klipfel of Portageville and the bridegroom is the son of Frank and Marilyn Omohundro of Clarksville.
Music for the occasion was provided by pianist Gary Clark, friend of the bride's family, James Williams, uncle of the bride and Julie Baker, also a friend of the bride's family.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory and cafe silk satin gown which featured a tank top ornamented with cafe embroidery and embellished with clear beading. The basque waist overlaid a fully shirred skirt which gave the gown a two-piece effect. The embroidery pattern was repeated above the hemline and continued around the full chapel-length train and the design was complemented with a corselet tie at the back of the bodice.
Joan Dietrich of West Plains attended her cousin as matron of honor. She wore a Donna Morgan navy blue crepe dress featuring a scoop neckline and A-line skirt, accented with a sequined flower and leaf sleeves.
Eric Moughler served his friend as best man. Ushers were Brian Klipfel of Portageville, brother of the bride and Dane Omohundro, nephew of the bridegroom.
The Ralph Lauren Chaps tuxedos featured black tailcoats. The bridegroom wore a white bow tie and white vest and the groomsman and ushers were attired with black bow ties, vests and cummerbunds.
Candlelighters were Alisa Brands of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride and Deaven Omohundro of Clarksville, niece of the bridegroom. Jill Omohundro of Clarksville was guest book attendant.
Serving guests at the reception held at Rebecca Sharp's in New Madrid were Celeste Gillette of Clayton and Michelle Smith of St. Charles, cousins of the bride and Teresa Davis of Kansas City, friend of the bride.
Following a wedding trip to Montana, the couple are making their home in St. Charles.
