Brian Evans

DEXTER - Brian J. Evans, 42, died Sept. 3, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born March 30, 1959, in Sikeston, son of Bill Evans of Dexter and the late Patricia Carr Evans, he was a public safety officer with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety for eight years. He retired as a staff sergeant with the Missouri National Guard Company C 1140th Engineering Battalion in Sikeston, where he served for 22 years. A heavy equipment operator for J.H. Berra Construction of St. Louis, he was a member of Operating Engineers Local 513.

Survivors in addition to his father include: one son, Curt T. Evans of Dexter; one brother, Bill A. Evans of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and five sisters, Carol Stayton and Sonya Parr of Dexter, Cynthia Herren of Branson, Carmen Price of Maryville, Tenn., and Amy Johnston of Eaton Rapids, Mich.

One daughter, Heather Renee Evans, also preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Larry Smith, officiating.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Charleston.
