BENTON - June Michael, 80, died at 2:40 p.m. Aug. 20, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Sept. 4, 1920, in Fruitland, daughter of the late Dick and Carrie Shaner Russell, she was a bookkeeper for Security Bank and Trust. A member of Unity Baptist Church, where she was pianist for many years, she was a member of Town and Country Homemaker in Benton, past worthy matron of Morley Chapter 342 Order of the Eastern Star.

In 1939, she married Vivan Alvin Belk who preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1957.

She and Robert "Charles" Michael were married Dec. 9, 1962, and he died Aug. 16, 1991.

Survivors include: two daughters, Patti Garrison of Union and Saundra Johnson of Benton; two stepsons, Bob Michael of Commerce and Joe Lee Michael of Benton; one brother, Jack Russell of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton, where Eastern Star rites will be conducted at 7 p.m.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dale E. Huff officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Cape Girardeau.
