Lester Hole
SIKESTON - Lester W. Holt, 74, formerly of Bloomfield, died Aug. 20, 2001, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born Jan. 10, 1927, at Himmell, son of the late Chester and Ada Lingle Holt, he was a retired carpenter and member of the Blodgett Baptist Church.
On June 5, 1949, he married Hattie Louise who preceded him in death on April 29, 1994.
He and Virgie Yancy were married June 10, 1995, and she survives.
Other survivors include: six sons, James L. Holt of Holiday, Fla., Gary E. Holt of Bell City, Donald Holt of Sikeston, Glen E. Holt and Robert S. Holt of Bloomfield and Perry N. Holt of Anaheim, Calif.; one daughter, Pam Haws of Dexter; three stepsons, James David Yancy and Keith Yancy of Sikeston and John Howard Yancy of Fort Pierce, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Cunningham of Chaffee; three brothers, Richard Holt of Port Hueneme, Calif., J.C. Holt of Waucanda, Ill., and Dale Holt of Blodgett; five sisters, Barbara Driskell and Iva Yon of Panama City, Fla., Dorothy Atlas of Arnold, Ann Gibbs of Hemet, Calif., and Linda Murone of Winter Haven, Fla.; and 13 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were one infant son, Bruce Gilbert Holt; and two brothers and one sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday.
Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield.
Pallbearers will be: Edward Holt, Chris Holt, Jeremy Holt, Jason Holt, Jimmy Holt, Sammy Holt and Jamie Haws.
