Charles Eifert

JACKSON - Charles Leon Eifert, 69, formerly of Scott City, died at 9:44 a.m. Oct. 24, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Feb. 23, 1932, in Illmo, son of the late Paul Casper and Hattie Bretzel Eifert, he was an engineer for the Cotton Belt Railroad and partner with Eifert-Mayfield Construction. A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, he served with the National Guard from 1952-1955.

On Dec. 20, 1958, at Cape Girardeau, he married Delores Selena Keesee who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, David Eifert of Jackson; two daughters, Tambra Eifert of Rolla and Lori Martin of Jackson; one brother, Raymond Eifert of Scott City; and two grandchildren.

Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Visitation will continue from 8 a.m. Saturday until service time at 10 a.m. at Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City. The Rev. Robert Henrichs will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Eisleben Lutheran Cemetery at Scott City.
