Rosie Johnson
MOUNDS, Ill. - Rosie Lee Johnson, 71, formerly of Wyatt, Mo., died Oct. 12, 2001, at the Fountain Care Facility in Marion.
Born Aug. 21, 1930, in Blytheville, Ark., daughter of the late Orange Riggen and Luella Neal Riggen, she had lived in Missouri for more than 60 years. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Villa Ridge.
Her husband, Raymond "Little Son" Johnson, preceded her in death in 1983.
Survivors include: five sons, Larry Johnson and Willie Johnson of Mounds, Elder Raymond Johnson Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, Wilbert Johnson of Columbus, Ohio, and Bobby Johnson of Paducah, Ky.; seven daughters, Louise Wade of Chicago Heights, Doris Cliff of Tulsa, Okla., Lula Johnson, Birdie Johnson, Valerie Wilson and Sharon Gay of Columbus and Margie Williams of Marion; two sisters, Mary Riggen of Charleston, Mo., and Mable Horton of Haines City, Fla.; one brother, Sam Riggen of Charleston; and 22 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.
Two infant sons also preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Charleston with her son, Elder Raymond Johnson Jr., officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
