SIKESTON - Bernice "Mama Nece" Miller Hartlein Western, 83, died March 24, 2007, at her home.
Born July 12, 1923, in Hagarville, Ark., to the late Pete and Ollie Sindle Berry, she was a housewife and homemaker.
On Oct. 19, 1973, in Sikeston, she married James Lloyd Western, who preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1995.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Miller, on March 24, 2006; one brother; and one sister.
Survivors include: one son, Kenny Hartlein of Sikeston; three daughters and one son-in-law, Carolyn "Sissy" Hartlein and Betty and Willie Staggs of Sikeston and Joy Hartlein of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters-in-law, Tonya Kellett of Nashville and Carolyn Miller of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Leonard Berry of Monahans, Texas and Junior Berry of Rockford, Ill.; one sister, Joyce Tucker of Davenport, Iowa; and a special grandson who was raised in the home, Pete Sailors of Sikeston; and 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel with the Rev. DeWayne Coleman, pastor of the Canalou Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Kevin Miller, Terry Staggs, Jerry Staggs, Ben Blaylock, Matthew Sailors and Kenny Fisher.
