William Henson

NEW MADRID - The Rev. William E. Henson, 79, died Sept. 4, 2001, at his home.

Born Aug. 4, 1922, in Campbell, son of the late Jettie Lucy Sanford Henson Boyt of Kennett and the late Jesse Howard Henson, he was a member of the New Madrid Baptist Church and former member of Ely Baptist Church in Kennett.

On Dec. 4, 1940, he married Mary Naomi Bell, who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jesse Marion and Francis Henson of Plainview, Ark., Elbert Clinton Henson Jr. of Kennett and the Rev. Gary Roger and Sandy Henson of New Madrid; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Ann and Harold Keathley of Smithville, Texas; one brother, Kenneth Henson of Kennett; and six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. today until service time at 7:30 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. The Rev. Don Slatton will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Lloyd Cemetery at Holcomb.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Carol Moore, C.M. Smith, Troy Rebstock, Bud Sweeney, Terry Weaver, Tommy Brannum, George Nelson and Kerry Noble.
