Virgil Gaines

McKENNA, Wash. - Virgil Marvin Gaines, 81, died Aug. 10, 2001, at the Nisqually Valley Care Center.

Born July 6, 1920, in Yarbrough, Ark., son of the late William Dawson and Mina Mosley Gaines, he retired as a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include: one daughter, Janet Sue Reece of West Memphis, Ark.; one son, Virgil Maurice Gaines of West Helena, Ark.; one sister, Altha Gunn of Sikeston; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, James Arthur Gaines and Phillip Darrell Gaines; two brothers, Richard Gaines and Leslie Gaines; and two sisters, Helen Morgan and Leona Reed.

A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
