Ernest Brown
WYATT - Ernest Edward Brown, 84, died at 1:15 p.m. Sept. 15, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born March 10, 1917, in Wyatt, son of the late John J. and Maggie Belle Goode Brown, he lived in Wyatt most of his life and was of the Methodist belief. He was a resident of Morlan, Calif., for 17 years where he was employed with the Growers Gin Company.
On Dec. 14, 1938, he married Goldia D. Sullivan who preceded him in death on Sept. 9, 1988.
Survivors include: one son, Edward "Dub" Brown of Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter, Lela Jo Whitehead of Wyatt; two brothers, Estel "Hade" Brown and Clifford Brown of Brawley, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Todd of Wyatt and Dorothy Griggs of Brawley; and 15 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were three daughters, Thelma Louise Brown, Mildred Smith and Alice "Sue" Lumley; and five brothers and one sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Kenneth Gibson, pastor of Living Water Fellowship in Charleston, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Donald Sams, David Stephens, Randy Davidson, Ricky Williams, Tim Williams and Wiley Sevic.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Joe Goodall, Hunter Raffety, Butch Cossey and Cliff Cossey.
