SIKESTON -- After months of eluding officers with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, James "Punkin" Harris is now in custody.

Harris, who was No. 2 on Sikeston DPS most wanted list, was arrested at Luther and Osage at 1:42 a.m. today following a tip from a citizen.

Harris was wanted on six Scott County warrants for charges of distribution of a controlled substance, family offense and probation violation. The warrants totaled a bond of $219,000.

Another arrest was made from the same vehicle. Ernest Motton was taken into custody on a charge of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
