Terry Smith

BLOOMFIELD - Terry Roger Smith, 53, died Oct. 4, 2001, near Bloomfield of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born April 5, 1948, in Poplar Bluff, son of Mary Moore Smith of Bloomfield and the late Thomas "Bud" Smith, he was a lifelong resident of Stoddard County and of the Methodist belief. He served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Wappapello.

He married Lannis Hopkins, who survives.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Rachel Smith of St. Louis; one sister, Patricia Monehan of Bloomfield; one niece, Keri Teel of Bloomfield; and one great-nephew, Andrew Teel of Bloomfield.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Jerry Park, officiating.

Graveside military rites will be conducted at the Bloomfield Cemetery.
