Doris Mercer

SCOTT CITY - Doris Mercer, 90, died at 5 p.m. Oct. 7, 2001, at her home.

Born June 21, 1911, at Illmo, daughter of the late Jess Magee and Rosa Evans, she was a lifelong resident of Scott City and a seamstress for Ely Walker and attended the Illmo Baptist Church in Scott City.

On June 4, 1933, she married William Thomas Mercer who preceded her in death on June 4, 1982.

She was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include: one daughter, Rita Sturm of Scott City; one brother, Jess Magee of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Dennis Bell officiating.

Burial will follow at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
