Gary Callow

SHELBY, Miss. - Gary David Callow Sr., 60, formerly of Oran, Mo., died Oct. 7, 2001, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Born March 27, 1941, near Pop City, Mo., son of Gladys Banks Callow of Bell City, Mo., and the late Elmer Jackson Callow, he was a farmer and member of Hooe Baptist Church in Oran. He served on the Bell City School Board for 16 years during which time he was president for five years and vice president for five years. He was also a member of the Bell City Rotary Club and Fraternal Order of Eagles at Advance, Mo.

On Sept. 13, 1960, he married Ella M. Diebold who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: four sons, David Callow and Matt Callow of Shelby and Shane Callow and Ladd Callow of Scott City, Mo.; two daughters, Kandy Abner of Marble Hill, Mo., and Cindy Priggel of Oran; one brother, Dale Callow of Advance; two sisters, Mary Bryeans of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Ruby Faulconer of Eureka Springs, Ark.; and 12 grandchildren.

Three brothers and one granddaughter preceded him in death.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
