Ray Bennett
CAPE GIRARDEAU - Ray Grady Bennett, 87, died Oct. 7, 2001, at the Lutheran Home.
Born Dec. 20, 1913, in Magnolia, Ark., son of the late Oscar and Mary Hill Bennett, he was a member of the Hanover Lutheran Church. He was a crew member for the gas division of Union Electric in Dexter, Cape Girardeau and Scott City and started the union at Missouri Utilities in 1949.
On July 25, 1939, at Brazil Mills, Neb., he married Emma Kruse Bennett who survives of Cape Girardeau.
Other survivors include: one son, Robert E. Bennett of Rich Hill; one daughter, Carol A. Roth of Jackson; one sister, Lois Patterson of Haywood, Calif.; and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one brother and one sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hanover Lutheran Church, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Jeffrey Sippy and Assistant Vicar Matthew Cantu will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Eisleben Lutheran Cemetery at Scott City.
