Verna Cruse

BLOOMFIELD - Verna May Cruse, 89, died Oct. 28, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born March 19, 1912, in Rockview, daughter of the late Tom and Florence Wills Miller, she had lived in Essex, Grayridge and Dexter before moving to Bloomfield a year ago and was a member of the Baptist Church.

On July 7, 1927, in Benton, she married Charles A. Cruse who preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 1973.

Survivors include: one son, Norman Cruse of Bloomfield; two brothers, Dallas Miller of Cape Girardeau and J.D. Schatz of Springfield; one sister, Dorothy Burns of Evansville, Ind.; and nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Three sons, Jerry Cruse, Jackie Cruse and Millard Cruse, also preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. Wednesday until service time at 2 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Doyle Corlew of Dexter will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
