Emanuel Woods
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Emanuel B. Woods, 82, died Oct. 26, 2001, at his home.
Born March 8, 1919, in Kentucky, son of the late William Theodore and Florence Jane Woods Sr., he was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He was a self-employed farmer for 42 years and worked in maintenance at the Bright Star Motel in Florida before retiring.
On Sept. 9, 1939, in Sikeston, Mo., he married Mildred Harmon who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Anita Wilkerson of Memphis and Carol Littleton of Horn Lake, Mich.; two brothers, William Theodore Woods Jr. of Sikeston and Tommy Earl Woods of Bertrand; three sisters, Mabel Peters of Bertrand, Ruby Little of Michigan and Norma Jean Matthews of Fisk; and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
One brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Lee Fansler, pastor of the Blodgett Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
