Elmer Russell
SPRINGFIELD - Elmer Dean Russell Sr., 72, formerly of Sikeston, died Nov. 1, 2001, at his home.
Born March 15, 1929, in Clarksville, Ark., son of the late John and Nellie Dunn Russell, he was a salesman before retiring in 1991 and owned and operated the Buck Stove Store in Springfield. A member of the Second Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge 310 AF&AM in Sikeston, he was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
His wife, Connie Wyatt Russell, survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Blenda Burton of Bellbrook, Ohio; two sons, Elmer Dean Russell Jr. of rural Buffalo and John Scott Russell of Springfield; two brothers, Boyd Russell of San Antonio, Texas, and Bob Russell of Sun City, Ariz.; two sisters, Pauline Compton of Arthur, Ill., and Imogene Lane of Double Springs, Ala.; and six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Services were conducted Monday at Green Lawn Funeral Home North in Springfield with the Rev. Van Segars officiating.
Burial followed in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield.
