George Robins

CHAFFEE - George William Robins, 73, died Nov. 4, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born May 5, 1928, in Palestine, Ark., son of the late Ullit and Martha Shaford Robins, he was a member of the SEMO Beagle Club and retired as a machine operator for the Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Joliet, Ill.

On July 27, 1989, he married Ersell Hathcock who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Michael Robins of Auburn, Ga.; one stepson, Lyndell Greenlee of Bullhead, Ark.; four stepdaughters, Bonnie Haney of Chaffee, Melba Valerza of Kankakee, Ill., Martha Berry of Aroma Park, Ill., and Tereasa Clodi of Clifton, Ill.; five sisters, Sue Kent of Deerfield Beach, Fla., Faylene Cantu of Fresno, Calif., Lana Barringar of Princeton, Ill., Anna Givens of Allenville and Judy Lackey of St. Ann, Ill.; and two grandchildren, 11 stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Kenneth Harp officiating.

Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
