BRUNSWICK, Ga. - David Pickett Ray, 61, formerly of Dorena, Mo., died at 7 p.m. Jan. 27, 2002, at his home.

Born June 9, 1940, in Dorena, son of the late Edward and Imogene Spence Ray Jr., he had lived in Brunswick for the past 33 years, where he was a retired foreman for Concrete Products.

His wife, Mattie Belle Ray, survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Lisha Ray of Concord, N.C.; five stepsons, Joel Brantley, Darrell Brantley, Glenn Brantley, Michael Brantley and Kenneth Brantley of Brunswick; three brothers, Larry Ray of East Prairie, Mo., John Dee Ray of Anniston, Mo., and Jerry Ray of Festus, Mo.; one sister, Karen "Sissy" Tatum of Anniston; and one grandson, nine stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Ray and Dwight "Tine" Ray.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday with Martin Lucas officiating.

Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
