I get so tired of reading in the paper where people call Clinton "Slick Willie." Slick Willie kept us out of war; we didn't have any war and we didn't have a recession the eight years he was in there. He did something right. So think about that.

World War II has been over for more than 50 years, and they're just now getting around to honoring the veterans? It sure took them a long time. Most of them are gone, including my husband. He was overseas for 18 months and was right in the thick of things. He was in the Battle of the Bulge and passed away before they ever decided to honor the veterans. I think it's a shame it took them so long to do that. I'd like to know where the board is that was up in the park with all the names on it. Did they take it down and destroy it, or is it preserved somewhere? I'd like to see it again if it is. Please try to find out where it is.

Someone in SpeakOut was calling about the woman in Charleston who had her ninth child. One better than that was in the paper. A man and woman are living together and they have kids but don't have a job and are wanting help. Now you can't tell me that one of them can't get a job. They don't want to work and I don't feel like helping people like that.

I'm a senior citizen of Bertrand and want to say thank you to the Bertrand Volunteer Fire Department and all of their helpers for the great dinner they put on for the seniors in Bertrand on Dec. 13. It was really great and thank you again.
