Paul Ellis

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Paul Ellis, 74, died Dec. 17, 2001, at Sunbridge Nursing Home.

Born Aug. 25, 1927, at Risco, Mo., son of the late William and Pearl Dowdy Elllis, he was a retired pipe layer and had worked for McMullen Excavating for many years. He had lived in the Missouri towns of Catron, Bernie and Dexter before moving to Granite City three years ago.

On Oct. 25, 1947, in Piggott, Ark., he married Louise Bennett who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Paul Richard Ellis of Granite City; three daughters, Paulette Green and Carol Jane Ellis of Granite City and Joyce Cagle of Carriere, Miss.; three brothers, Edwin Ellis of Lilbourn, Mo., Dale Ellis of Dexter and Billy Joe Ellis of Morehouse, Mo.; two sisters, Margaret Baker of Dexter and Norma Hoskins of Sikeston, Mo.; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Daisy Breece.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Arvel Edmonds of Bernie officiating.

Burial will follow in Bernie Cemetery in Bernie.
