Maxine Henry

STEELE - Maxine Henry, 78, of Steele died Nov. 20, 2001, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville, Ark.

Born July 9, 1923, in the Samford Community, she was the daughter of the late Joe I. and Hazel Edwards Samford. She was a graduate of Holland High School, a member of the Samford Church of Christ, and a homemaker.

On Oct. 5, 1946, she married to Albert Lewis "Bert" Henry, who preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1998. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Frances Miller.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Cheryl Henry of Steele; two brothers, Joe Edward Samford and Hugh Samford of Steele; one sister, Lucille Grindstaff of Fort Payne, Ala.; one granddaughter, Jennifer Creecy and her husband Christopher of Sikeston; and one grandson, Justin Henry of Steele.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Nov. 24 at the Samford Church of Christ with Steve Harris officiating.

Burial was at the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens in Caruthersville with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were: Bobby Ketchum, Stuart Worrell, David Daniels, John Eddleman, Carl Avis, and John H. Smith.
