Lydia Tillman

LILBOURN - Lydia Deborah Tillman, 84, died Dec. 17, 2001, at her home.

Born Dec. 26, 1916, at Steele, daughter of the late John R. and Lydia Ann Thomas Crockett, she was a member of the Lilbourn United Methodist Church.

On Dec. 22, 1936, in Steele, she married Howard Herndle Tillman, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Howard Crockett Tillman of Conran and Jerry Francis Tillman of Louisville, Ky.; one daughter, Mary Ann Bateman of Toledo, Ohio; one brother, John Robert Crockett of Tampa, Fla.; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, John Joseph Tillman; two brothers, Austin Crockett and David Crockett; and two sisters, Audrey May Crockett and Katherine Chotes.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Lilbourn United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bill Reid, pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Ed Rhodes, pastor of the First United Methodist Church at Portageville.

Burial will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery in Lilbourn.
