Virginia Dixon

WASHINGTON, Ill. - Virginia Louise Dixon, 76, died at 9 p.m. Jan. 25, 2002, at the Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

Born May 10, 1925, at Mayfield, Ky., daughter of the late Charles R. and Lura B. Duty Gregory, she was a member of the Leisure Acres Golden Agers Club in Washington and was of the Baptist belief.

On Oct. 17, 1942, in Wyatt, Mo., she married Glenn Dixon who preceded her in death on May 22, 1978.

Survivors include: one son, William G. Dixon of Washington; two daughters, Glenna L. Haggard of Metamora and Dorothy A. Johnson of Chillicothe; one stepsister, Mary L. Goodall of Granite City; and eight grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, Mo., where services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Clifford Payne will officiate.

Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston, Mo.
