Monroe Scott Sr.

SIKESTON - Monroe Scott Sr., 93, died Nov. 15, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Oct. 13, 1908, in Alligator Lake, Miss., he lived in Missouri for over 50 years and was a member of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of New Madrid.

He married Hazel Bell who preceded him in death Nov. 20, 1995.

Survivors include: one son, Monroe Scott Jr. of New Madrid; two daughters, Dorothy Scott and Mary Matthews of Sikeston; two stepsons Willie Simpson of Sikeston and Floyd Green of Long Beach, Calif.; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon Tuesday until services scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Leotis Akiens officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
