Alma Doggett
SIKESTON - Alma V. Doggett, 80, died at 1:20 p.m. Nov. 18, 2001, at her home.
Born Jan. 4, 1921, in Daisy, daughter of the late Arnold and Bertie Alice Brown Drum, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Jackson Chapter 91, she was deli manager for many years at Barkett's Big Star and had been a supervisor and volunteer for 10 years at the Sikeston Community Sheltered Workshop.
On Sept. 26, 1941, in Farmington, she married David Robert Doggett who preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1983.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Charles Lee of Sikeston; one brother, Ted Drum of Jackson; one sister, Alpha Brune of Farmington; four grandchildren, Michael Lee of St. Charles, Angie Stark, Kristi Wheetley and Laurie Brashears of Sikeston; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Bill Koch, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Randy Stark, Chad Stark, Tim Wheetley, Michael Lee, Pete Glaus, Jimmy Doggett, Joe David Frank and Jason Frank.
