Gladys Boyd
SIKESTON - Gladys A. Boyd, 81, died Jan. 30, 2002, at her home.
Born Sept. 25, 1920, in Clarksville, Ark., daughter of the late D.C. and Zella Vangilder Crone, she formerly lived in St. Louis, where she and her husband owned and operated Boyd's Upholstery and had lived in Sikeston for the past 25 years. She was a member of the North Acres Baptist Church.
On Oct. 7, 1939, in Benton, she married Clyde Boyd who preceded her in death on April 30, 1991.
Survivors include: one son, Ronald C. Boyd of Buda, Texas; one brother, Mitchell Crone of Brighton, Ill.; three sisters, Louise Yates of Henderson, Ky., Mildred Tidwell of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Regina Johnson of Sikeston; and five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
One son, two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Steve Tippen, pastor of North Acres General Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
