Helen Jones

SIKESTON - Mary Helen Jones, 93, died Jan. 11, 2002, at her home.

Born June 23, 1908, daughter of the late George and Eva Mae Lile Sr., she was affiliated with the Sikeston Community Baptist Church, where she was a member of the ladies Sunday school class.

On Nov. 7, 1925, in Sikeston, she married Barney Jones who preceded her in death on June 3, 1972.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, J.C. and Shirley Jones of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Emma Richter of Sikeston; one granddaughter, Cathy Armstrong of Memphis; two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Pauline Estes of Sikeston.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ella Lea Jones on Oct. 5, 1957; and four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Sikeston Community Baptist Church with the Rev. Dolan Rogers, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
