Florence Taylor

BERNIE - Florence Melissalee Taylor, 90, formerly of Bernie, died Nov. 12, 2001, at the Integrated Health Systems at Big Valley Park.

Born Aug. 2, 1911, in Hickman, Ky., to the late Monroe and Lillie May Haymes Gammons, she was a homemaker and affiliated with the Pentecostal Church.

On Oct. 27, 1925, at New Madrid, she married Charlie C. Taylor, who preceded her in death on April 2, 1991. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Louis Edward Gammons, Huston Carol Gammons and Albert Gammons; and five sisters, Clara Mae Gammons, May Cleavlin, Katie Lou Doty, Thelma Dee Gammons and Dorothy Agnes Gammons.

Survivors include four sons, Charles H. Taylor of Branson, LeeRoy Taylor of Kirkwood, James H. Taylor of St. Charles and Louis F. Taylor of Lufkin, Texas; and 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at the Rainey Funeral Chapel in Bernie with the Rev. Maxwell Lewis officiating.

Burial followed in the Elder Cemetery near Campbell.
