Connie Belt

DEXTER - Connie Ray Belt, 58, died Jan. 13, 2002, at the John J. Pershing Veterans Administration Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Born Dec. 4, 1943, at Campbell, son of Wynona Belt of Campbell and the late Russell Belt, he lived in St. Louis for several years before moving to Dexter four years ago. He was a member of the American Legion and had served in the U.S. Air Force.

On Nov. 17, 2001, in Dexter, he married Barbara Scott who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: one son, Randy Belt of St. Louis; one daughter, Jody Belt of Mexico; three stepsons, Jimmy Payne of Dexter, Kenneth Payne of Blytheville, Ark., and Larry Payne of Fulton; one stepdaughter, Rhonda White of Sikeston; and nine grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Dean Williams of Dexter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
