Rebecca Dirnberger

NEW HAMBURG - Hattie Rebecca "Becky" Dirnberger, 92, died at 5:40 p.m. Jan. 12, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Oct. 11, 1909, in Benton, daughter of the late Robert Cooper and Amelia Steimle Brock, she was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church at New Hamburg.

On Oct. 3, 1931, at Benton she married Claude William Dirnberger, who preceded her in death on May 9, 1996.

Survivors include: four sons, Richard Dirnberger, Andrew Dirnberger and Glen Dirnberger of Cape Girardeau and David Dirnberger of New Hamburg; three daughters, Lois Spalding, Janet Vetter and Vera Hennemann of Benton; one sister, Catherine Henry of Bridgeton, N.J.; and 20 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel where parish prayers will be recited at 6:30 p.m.

Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church at New Hamburg with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Lawrence Cemetery at New Hamburg.
