Arthur Rhodes
DELTA - Longtime Delta businessman Arthur Ray Rhodes, 62, died at 9:53 p.m. Jan. 27, 2002, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, Ill.
Born Feb. 15, 1939, in Millersville, son of the late Charles J. and Esther Estes Rhodes, he owned and operated Rhodes Grocery, Semo Produce and Semo Brokerage in Delta for more than 30 years. He served with the U.S. Army missile battalion from 1956 to 1962.
Survivors include: his fiancee and companion, Cheryl Jackson of Delta; four sons, Kirby Rhodes of Whitewater, Tony Rhodes of Oran, Jimmy Erlbacher of Cape Girardeau and Tom Erlbacher of Delta; two daughters, Kim Schlosser of Painton and Angie Perry of Delta; two stepsons, Chris Hornbuckle and James Hornbuckle of Delta; one sister, Shirley Erlbacher of Cape Girardeau; two aunts, Rosella Kaempfe of Cape Girardeau and Rosemary Enderle of Fenton; and 11 grandchildren.
Two brothers preceded him in death.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Dan Baggett officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stroderville Cemetery at Whitewater.
Pallbearers will be: Kirby Rhodes, Tony Rhodes, Jimmy Erlbacher, Tom Erlbacher, Mike Perry, Danny Schlosser, Chris Hornbuckle and James Hornbuckle.
