Freeda Crain

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Freeda Crain, 91, formerly of Dexter, died Dec. 1, 2001, at the Lutheran Home.

Born Aug. 26, 1910, in Diehlstadt, daughter of the late Perly and Laura Ann Hogg Collier, she had been employed by Elder Manufacturing in St. Louis and Dexter before retiring.

On July 2, 1938, at New Madrid, she married Rufus "Doc" Crain who preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1992.

Survivors include: one son, Carlton Crain of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Phyllis Oliver of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Leeda Glenn of Las Vegas, Nev.; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

One brother, Fred Collier, also preceded her in death.

Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Clifford Wray officiating.

Burial followed in the Hagy Cemetery.
