Hester Walls

NEW MADRID - Hester Walls, 88, died Dec. 28, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Aug. 6, 1913, in Blackrock, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin J. McFalls and Mary Magdeline Henshaw White.

On Dec. 24, 1930, in Portageville, she married Johnny Walls who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Geraldine Ables and Joyce Jones; two sons, Landall Walls and J.C. Walls; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include: four sons, Estel Walls, Roger Walls, Buford Walls and Donald Walls of Portageville; three daughters, Evaline Harp of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Mary Lou Hart and Deloris Panuco of the state of California; and 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Hershal Godair, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
