Dale Hill
SPRINGFIELD - Dr. Dale Alfred Hill, 61, formerly of Sikeston, died Feb. 2, 2002, in Cox South Hospital.
Born Feb. 22, 1940, in Salem, Ill., son of the late Robert B. and Opal Hill, he grew up in Carmi, Ill., attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill., and later attended and graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston where he practiced 18 years before moving to Springfield.
He married Sarah W. Hill, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Ben Plunk of Battlefield; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lisa Hill of Springfield; two sisters, Gloria Shaw of Mt. Carmel, Ill., and Sharon DeCicco of Chicago; one grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles "Buddy" Hill and Denzle Hill.
Services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Greenlawn Funeral Home South with Charles Buck officiating.
