Lucetria Bennett

SIKESTON - Lucetria Bennett, 88, died at 9:10 p.m. Jan. 23, 2002, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

Born Dec. 4, 1913, in Puxico, daughter of the late Wilfred L. and Myrtle Jane Beard Buckley, she was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a member and had served as worthy matron of Sikeston Chapter 137 Order of the Eastern Star and was also a member of the Sikeston Past Matrons and Past Patrons Club.

On July 28,1957, she married Truman Bennett who preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 1988.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Gayle W. and Geraldine Way of Sikeston; one brother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Jewell Buckley of Puxico; and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

One sister, Louise Marlotte, also preceded her in death.

Visitation was held Tuesday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, where Chapter 137 Order of the Eastern Star conducted rites at 7:30 p.m.

Services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Geers, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial followed in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Bruce Way, Jerry Aldridge, Glen Peel, Mel Cokenour, David Hay and Kevin Heuiser.
