Wayman Pratt

SIKESTON - Otto Wayman Pratt, 81, died at 3:15 p.m. Jan. 3, 2002, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born July 20, 1920, in Sikeston, son of the late Harry O. and Addie Barnes Pratt Sr., he graduated from Sikeston High School and attended the Cape Teachers College in Cape Girardeau. A tech sergeant with the U.S. Army during World War II, he was a general building contractor and property owner. He was self-employed and partner with Eldon Ziegenhorn in the Ziegenhorn-Pratt Construction Company. A member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was also a member of Henry Meldrum American Legion Post 114 in Sikeston.

On April 12, 1941, in Kennett, he married Dorothy Arlene Ziegenhorn Pratt who preceded him in death on April 27, 1999.

Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Marian Pratt, Charles and Sue Pratt and Harry and Vickie Pratt of Sikeston; one brother and sister-in-law, Billy Ray and Eleanor Pratt of Tucson, Ariz.; and nine grandchildren: Jim Pratt of Cape Girardeau and Stacy Pratt, Brant Pratt, Kristi Crosier, Kari Murphy, Mark Pratt, Amanda Pratt, Brooks Pratt and Katie Pratt of Sikeston.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Harry O. Pratt Jr.; and two sisters, Vivian Sitzes and Maxine Crandall.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday.

The Military Funeral Honors Program will conduct graveside military rites at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: Stacy Pratt, Jim Pratt, Brant Pratt, Bobby Crosier, Brooks Pratt, Mark Pratt and Patrick Murphy.
