Freeman Hickman Sr.
NEW MADRID - Freeman R. Hickman Sr., 53, died at 4:08 p.m. Dec. 24, 2001, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born April 12, 1948, in Philadelphia, Miss., son of the late John and Margaret Lewis Hickman, he had been a farmer and was formerly employed by the Sikeston Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
He had also been a member of the First Baptist Church in Canalou.
Survivors include: two sons, Freeman Roy Hickman Jr. and Melvin Davis Hickman of New Madrid; three brothers, Bill Hickman and James Hickman of Philadelphia, Miss., and Frank Hickman of Sikeston; two sisters, Joan Holder of Sikeston and Joyce Collins of Brinkley, Ark.; his former wife, Gwen Hickman of New Mexico; and 14 nieces and nephews, 10 great-nieces and nephews, one great-great-nephew and three great-great-nieces.
Two brothers, one sister and one nephew preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. today until service time at 1:30 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Essex Cemetery with the Rev. Manny Alvarado of Sikeston officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Johnny Sauceda, Danny Sauceda, Joe Brothers, Mark Garcia, Georgie Ferra and Jerry Troy.
