Gladys Marshall

SIKESTON - Gladys Elizabeth Marshall, 81, died at 1:35 p.m. Dec. 23, 2001, at Hunter Acres Caring Center.

Born Jan. 19, 1920, in Charleston, daughter of the late William Earl and Beatrice Holley Trousdale Sr., she owned and operated the One-Hour Wardrobe Cleaners in Sikeston for many years. A former member and past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star chapter in Greenville, she was of the Baptist belief.

On March 18, 1930, in Sikeston, she married Tris Speaker Marshall who preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1977.

Survivors include: one son, William Dean Marshall of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two brothers, Eugene Trousdale of St. Louis and William Earl Trousdale Jr. of Miner; one sister, Ida May Suchman of St. Louis; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Janice Marshall; and two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from noon Thursday until service time at 2 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dolan Rogers, pastor of the Sikeston Community Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
