William Clark
NEW MADRID - William H. Clark, 80, died at 5:03 a.m. Nov. 22, 2001, at his home.
Born Sept. 2, 1921, in New Madrid County, son of the late Jasper Andrew and Loria Alberta Lindsey Clark, he was a timber farmer. He was a member of New Life Assembly Church in New Madrid and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On April 23, 1946, in New Madrid, he married Virginia D. Varmadore who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Pat Ray of Lilbourn and Rita Atchley of Springfield; two sons, Billy Clark and Doug Hendrix of New Madrid; five sisters, Lucille Beebe of Houston, Mo., Aline Duffel of Aurora, Ill., Wilma Smith of Florida, Mondale Becker of Peoria, Ill., and Shelby Warren of Sikeston; one brother, Russell Clark of Phoenix, Ariz.; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Floyd Clark and Melvin Clark, preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Saturday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Tom McCanless will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
