Jacob Myres
CAPE GIRARDEAU - Jacob Lee Myres, 79, formerly of East Prairie, died at 7:18 a.m. Nov. 21, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 4, 1922, in East Prairie, son of the late Albert and Maggie Olene Ferguson Myres, he had been employed by the Colonial Service Station and was a member of the LaCroix United Methodist Church. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of Local 1104 and had also worked for Crites and Sailer Construction and Melvin Rickard Construction.
On Nov. 21, 1951, in St. Louis, he married Betty Byrd who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Larry Lee Myres of Sikeston; one daughter, Donna Jean Hitt of Jackson; one sister, Lucy Burnett of St. Louis; and five grandchildren.
Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel with the Rev. Ron Watts officiating.
Burial will follow in Cape County Memorial Park.
