Dellia Baker
BERTRAND - Dellia L. Baker, 85, died at 11:45 a.m. Jan. 5, 2002, at her home.
Born Sept. 19, 1916, at Leonard, Ark., daughter of the late William E. and Jannie King Guthrie, she lived in Grand Rapids, Mich., for many years where she was employed with the Furniture City Upholstery Company and Kindle Furniture Company before retiring in 1977. She move
d to Bertrand seven years ago and was of the Baptist belief.
On Sept. 21, 1935, she married John William Baker who preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 2000.
Survivors include: three sons, Junior Baker of Homeland, Calif., and James L. Baker and Willard "Doc" Baker of Bertrand; one daughter, Reba Peterson of Grand Rapids; one brother, Jasper Guthrie of Tullelake, Calif.; and nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Nina Langerek, and one grandson also preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Tom Bridges of Bertrand will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
