Lizzie Young

PORTAGEVILLE - Lizzie Young, 81, died Jan. 4, 2002, at her home.

Born Feb. 13, 1920, in Tipper, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Joe and Mary DeCander Wallace.

On March 21, 1967, in Ripley, Miss., she married Troy Young who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, L.C. Tucker of Portageville; one daughter, Vernice Brasher of Portageville; one stepdaughter, Mary Jane Goess of Whitefull, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Wallace, John Wallace, Zike Wallace and Mario Wallace; and two sisters, Mary Ettie DeCander and Anna Wallace.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Mark Inman, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
